Packing, Packing, and More Packing

It’s time to pack, and boy is it going to be complex. Some stuff is staying in Texas. Other stuff is going back to San Diego. Still more stuff is going to London. And it doesn’t help that I’m making a trip to New Mexico and a business trip to Long Beach before I catch my flight to the UK. I’m staring at my messy apartment right now, wondering where to start. Maybe those dirty dishes from dinner should be my first order of business…

Thanks to the different electrical system in Europe, my small appliances are staying here. Fortunately, my laptop and phone can run on European power voltages, so I’ll only need adaptor plugs.
Speaking of my phone, my iPhone 4S should be able to accept a local SIM card when I get to the UK. AT&T unlocked the phone so it can be used on other carriers. From what I’ve read online, this doesn’t include other US carriers, only international ones. In the US, my phone is forever chained to AT&T. The only truly unlocked phones can be purchased at the Apple Store, for full retail prices of course.
In other news, I received an email today saying my visa has been issued. It’s being sent by FedEx to San Diego, which is my final stop before leaving the US.
This weekend, I’m headed out to Taos, New Mexico. I’ll be sure to post some photos of the beautiful scenery.
